Swift-BAT reports the detection of a possible new hard X-ray transient near the galactic center. This source which we have designated SWIFT J1756.9-2508 is located at

RA: 269.218 17:56:52
dec: -25.1250 -25d07m30.1s
gal lon: 4.5558
gal lat: -0.2041

The source was first detected in the Swift/BAT Hard X-ray Transient Monitor (ATEL #904) on June 7, 2007 (MJD 54258) with a flux of approximately 13 mCrab. It has since increased in intensity and on June 12, 2007 had risen to 27 mCrab. In partial data for June 13, the flux is seen at 49 +/- 8 mCrab.

Further analysis including more precise determination of count rates and spectra is ongoing.
