Sayan Chakraborti (Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, (TIFR)), Poonam Chandra (Univ Virginia and National Radio Astronomical Observatory, Charlottesville), Nirupam Roy (National Centre for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA-TIFR), Pune, and Alak Ray (TIFR) report on the Target of Opportunity observation of SN 2007gr on 2007 Aug 24 by the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT) in the L-band between UT 0200 to 0400. The central frequency used was 1390 MHz with a bandwidth of 32 MHz. Radio emission from the SN was not detected in this exposure, with a 2 sigma upper limit of 170 microJansky (uJy) at the position of the SN corresponding to map rms of about 85 uJy. Data in the L-band was also collected on 2007 August 25 and another long GMRT observation is planned for 2007 Aug 29. We thank the staff of GMRT who made this Target of Opportunity Observation possible. GMRT is run by the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. ~
