We have detected a likely supernova in CSS images from 24 Sep 2008 UT. The object has the following parameters:
|CSS080924:044524+182425||2008-09-24 UT 11:17:06||RA 04:45:24.00||Dec 18:24:25.1||Mag 17.5||Type SN|
The object is near the edge of galaxy LCSB L0250N (z=0.0155). No transients are present in earlier epochs of CSS imaging including data taken on or before the 9th Mar 2008 (to mag ~19.5), or prior PQ and DSS images to mag ~22.
Further to ATel #1734, CSS080923:011149+143826 was independently discovered by ROTSE-III and has now been spectroscopically confirmed as a type-Ia supernova (CBET1513).

Current candidate and confirmed SNe can be found here.
CRTS optical transients are detected and published as VOEvents in real-time at http://voeventnet.org/feeds/Catalina.shtml
