Optical observations of the transient Be/X-ray binary V0332+53 (ATel #1792), was carried out using 1-m Sampurnanand telescope at ARIES, Nainital. We observed the field in UBVRI bands for 4 hours since 19.287 hrs UT on 2008-10-21. To calibrate the photometry, we also observed the SA95 and PG2213 Landolt (1992) standard fields during the same night. The transient source magnitudes during our observations are U=17.49+/-0.02, B=17.17+/-0.01, V=15.41+/-0.01, R = 14.23+/-0.01 and I=13.04+/-0.01. No brightness variation beyond 3-sigma is seen in the UBVRI bands during these observations. In these five bands, the source is about 0.25 magnitude brighter compared to its quiescent state (Negueruela 1999, MNRAS, 307, 695), but fainter compared to some of its previous outbursts (ATel #245, #388). We will continue photometric monitoring of this source during this outburst.
