We have detected four supernova candidates in CSS images from UT dates Oct 9th, 29th and 30th. The detections have the following parameters:
|CSS081030:011341+044717||2008-10-30 UT 05:12:43||RA 01:13:41.49||Dec 04:47:18.0||Mag 17.7||Type SN|
|CSS081030:043655-002136||2008-10-30 UT 08:34:57||RA 04:36:55.20||Dec -00:21:35.6||Mag 18.0||Type SN?|
|CSS081029:224444-030851||2008-10-29 UT 04:52:02||RA 22:44:43.69||Dec -03:08:51.1||Mag 18.3||Type SN|
|CSS081009:002151-163204||2008-10-09 UT 05:49:20||RA 00:21:51.39||Dec -16:32:03.8||Mag 18.5||Type SN?|
CSS081030:011341+044717 is associated with an anonymous galaxy. This supernovae candidate is also seen in images from Sept 21, Sept 29 and Oct 8 UT. No objects are seen in prior PQ, DSS1 and DSS2 images to mag ~21. CSS081029:224444-030851 is near galaxy APMUKS B224209.38-032444.7 (mag 18.2). No transients are present in earlier epochs of CSS, imaging including data taken on or before the 1st Oct (to mag ~20) or in prior PQ, DSS1 and DSS2 images. CSS081009:002151-163204 is possibly a supernova based on CSS photometry from Oct 2, 9, and 27 UT. CSS081030:043655-002136 is possibly a supernova based on CSS photometry from Oct 6, 9, and 30 UT. However, as a possible associated point sources are seen in DSS images for CSS081009:002151-163204 and CSS081030:043655-002136 other sources of variability cannot not yet be ruled out. We request follow-up observations.
Further to ATel#1734, additional CSS and P60 photometry of CSS080921:012706+031305 suggest this object is a supernova.
