Tavani et al (Atel #1827) report the detection of gamma-ray emission by AGILE, and they suggest that this is likely to be associated with the X-ray binary Cygnus X-3. Radio monitoring at 15 GHz with the AMI Large Array (the reconfigured and reengineered Ryle Telescope, Cambridge UK) shows a peak flux density of 420 mJy on 2008 October 29, falling to a level of 2 to 3 mJy on 2008 November 4 & 5. Such low ('quenched') flux densities are often observed before a major radio flare. The quenched regime may sometimes last for tens of days. A plot of recent flux densities is available at http://www.mrao.cam.ac.uk/~guy/cx3/cx3-08.ps
