The Chandra UK MirrorChandra is NASA's flagship X-ray observatory mission, successfully launched on July 23rd 1999. The Chandra spacecraft carries a high resolution mirror, two imaging detectors, and two sets of transmission gratings. These instruments provide high spatial resolution (0.5 arcsec), good sensitivity from 0.1 to 10 keV, and the capability for high spectral resolution observations over most of this range. Data from the Chandra mission is archived at the Chandra X-ray Observatory Center (CXC) at the Center for Astrophysics, in the USA. The LEDAS mirror of the Chandra X-ray Center website was retired at the end of July 2009. Please update your bookmarks to http://asc.harvard.edu |
