Handling Sky Coordinates

When the sky transformations have been set either using AMAPS, ZMAPS or by accessing a sky image with the command IMGHDS (see displaying images), then the following commands can be used to set the "pen" position to a specified sky position.

qcl>GAL GRP_GL2,GRP_GB2
qcl>GAL GRP_NPOS
qcl>CEL GRP_RA,GRP_DEC
qcl>CEL GRP_NPOS
qcl>TEL GRP_AZ,GRP_EL
qcl>TEL GRP_NPOS

Just as for the command POS the forms with only one parameter use the saved position pointed to by the subscript GRP_NPOS. The positions are always specified in decimal degrees for GAL (Galactic) and TEL (local telescope) coordinates. Equatorial positions are also specified in decimal degrees by default. However the command

qcl>DMS

will force Equatorial positions to be listed in degrees, minutes, second and hours, minutes, seconds and input in encoded form DDMMSS.SS or HHMMSS.SS. Decimal format can be restored using the command

qcl>DECIMAL
