Annotation of Plots

Axes and labelling can be plotted for any plots which have been created using the "A" mapping options (AMAP, IMGAPIX, etc.) using the command

qcl>AXES

The labelling of the axes is derived from the parameters GRP_LABX and GRP_LABY and the title from GRP_TITLE. These must be set before the mapping for the plot is set up. Default values for these text strings are set by the data access commands XYHXS etc. AXES can be used for images but for sky images it is more appropriate to use one of the three commands which plot spherical coordinate grids

qcl>CELGRID GRP_LABG
qcl>GALGRID GRP_LABG
qcl>TELGRID GRP_LABG

CELGRID will plot Equatorial R.A., Dec. TELGRID will plot local telescope coordinates and GALGRID will plot Galactic LII, BII.

The parameter GRP_LABG controls the labelling.

qcl>GRP_LABG=0 no labelling
qcl>GRP_LABG=1 hms dms (default for CELGRID)
qcl>GRP_LABG=2 dms dms (default for TELGRID)
qcl>GRP_LABG=3 decimal degrees (default for GALGRID)
