Purpose

Program bgdchk calculates the total variance and statistical noise in a Ginga data CUBE, TIME series or spectral (PHAD) file. These are calculated as follows:

Total variance:
Statistical noise:

The square root of these values are written to the screen.

Input File

A Ginga CUBE or TIME series.

Output File

An output data file containing the intrinisic variability (total variance minus statistical noise) and statistical noise.

Input Parameters

Bgdchk requires two input parameters. The QX parameter system is used to read these parameters.
