Ginga Specific Software: Program BGDSSUD
The satellite position in orbit, and thus the intrinsic background,
depends on two parameters (excluding the phase of the 37-day orbital
period of Ginga): the angle from ascending node and
the longitude of the ascending node (Hayashida, private
communication). Program bgdssud maps the SUD rate, from
input data files, against both parameters (dividing the data into
20° bins). The output data file can be used, with the program bgdisud, to correct SUD rates on
occasions when the source contributes a significant number of counts
above 24 keV.
Any number of Ginga CUBEs or TIME series from which it is
desired to extract SUD rates (usually background datasets).
A data file containing the SUD rate mapped against the angle from
ascending node and the longitude of ascending node. The output file is
given the extension ".dat".
Bgdssud requires a variable number of input parameters. The
QX parameter system is used to read these parameters.
