Ginga Specific Software: Program HELIO

Purpose

Program helio accesses the satellite position and pointing data from the original time series (i.e. sortac must have been run with the parameter AUX_INFO=YES) to calculate the time delay to the heliocentric frame of reference, which is stored as the DOUBLE PRECISION array TIME_CORR corresponding to each element of the original time series. This array is written back to the original file. Although this method of applying time corrections generates rather large time series files it has the advantage that further computation of time delays is not required.

Another feature of helio is that one time series channel can be tested to ensure that no spikes are present in the resultant time series. Discriminator window edges are set using HEL_CRMIN and HEL_CRMAX (see below).

Input File

A Ginga data CUBE or TIME series.

Input Parameters

Helio requires five input parameters. The QX parameter system is used to read these parameters.

HEL_DATIN The name of the input data cube or time series.
HEL_IPHA Pulse height channel of the time series to be tested.
HEL_IDENT Ident channel of the time series to be tested.
HEL_CRMIN Low edge of window.
HEL_CRMAX High edge of window.
