Ginga Specific Software: Program SHRINKPurposeProgram shrink reduces the size of HDS files. It does this in two ways. Firstly some programs leave large amounts of unused space in HDS files. This is particularly noticable for spectral (PHAD) files. Shrink always reclaims this space. Secondly many files have in addition to the science data large arrays of auxiliary or housekeeping (HK) data; Ginga files are particularly affected. Optionally shrink can delete some or all of these arrays. Remember, however, that much of the Ginga data analysis (e.g. background subtraction, attitude correction and cleaning) uses this auxilairy information. Input File(s)A Ginga CUBE, TIME series or PHAD file(s). Output File(s)A "shrunk" Ginga CUBE, TIME series or PHAD file(s). Input ParametersShrink requires a variable number of input parameters. The QX parameter system is used to read these parameters.
