Timing Analysis of Ginga DataGinga, with its extended looks at X-ray targets, and its large collecting area, is ideally suited to searching for periods in many types of X-ray source, from pulsars to Active Galactic Nuclei. For this reason, there are several programs that are dedicated to searching for periodic (or quasi-periodic) signals in Ginga data. The rest of this section is intended to give the user enough information to convert HDS time series files to a FITS format suitable for the xronos timing analysis package (which is part of the XANADU suite of software), to fold their HDS time series files on a particular period(s), and to perform a fast Fourier Transform. Note that sections 8.2 onwards do not handle OGIP FITS type time series files.
