Anonymous ftp area

 

The LEDAS ftp area allows access to a number of different documents and datafiles:

  • this user guide
  • Ginga analysis software, and documentation
  • the ROSAT handbook and data products guides
  • ROSAT calibration files
  • the Chandra analysis software
  • the HEAsoft and PIMMS installation packages
The ftp area is also the location where near-line data requested from the LEDAS CD-ROM jukeboxes is placed for collection by requesters.

To connect to the LEDAS anonymous ftp area, 

% ftp ledas-ftp.star.le.ac.uk
Name (ledas-ftp.star.le.ac.uk:kbs): anonymous

Most of the directories in this area contain a README file describing the directory contents. This can be read by typing the command, 

ftp> get README "| more"

The LEDAS ``Services" WWW page also contains a connection to the LEDAS ftp site, click on ``SERVICES" at the bottom of the LEDAS home page.
