The Archive MirrorUnder the terms of the agreement with CXC, the LEDAS will be mirroring all of the public, high-level products in the Chandra Data Archive. This subset of the files in the original archive should satisfy the needs of all but the most demanding analyses of the data. The format of and interface to the Chandra Archive Mirror will be identical to that at CXC, so those already familiar with obtaining data directly from the U.S. will have a seamless transition to using the mirror site. The LEDAS mirror of the Chandra database and associated products will use real-time replication to maintain consistency with the parent site. Should the transatlantic links prove to be unreliable, a backup procedure using hard media will be implemented.
The LEDAS also maintains a few Chandra databases as part of its ``normal"
database set, available to BROWSE and ARNIE. Table 2 is a list of
these Chandra databases as of March 2000. An up-to-date list of the databases
currently available can be found at:
