ASTERIX is the STARLINK-maintained X-ray data analysis and image
processing package and is the software most commonly used by UK
astronomers to analyse their ROSAT data. The software contains a number
of instrument-specific packages which pre-process datasets into
products, such as images, spectra and time series, which can then be
manipulated with the general data analysis routines.
The XRT interface to ASTERIX is described in detail in the Starlink User
Notes (SUN) #98.
